Luteinizing hormone (LH) and follicle-stimulating hormone (FSH) – As the name suggests FSH stimulates the ovarian follicle which results in the growth of eggs. It also stimulates the production of estrogen in the follicle. Raised levels of estrogen send a signal to our pituitary gland to stop producing FSH and to start making more LH. As a result of LH the egg are released from the ovary, a process called ovulation.

It is a steroid hormone primarily produced by the ovaries during the reproductive lifespan. It is responsible for the development of female secondary sexual characteristics.
